Health Testing
Responsible breeding, shown openly
Every dog in our breeding program is DNA tested through Embark, and we screen through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We believe transparency matters, which is why we want visitors to see both the testing performed and the actual results.
Embark DNA testing
A broad panel of inherited health risks, plus traits, coat genetics, ancestry and genetic diversity. DNA testing cannot predict or diagnose every health problem a dog could ever experience — it gives us information to make more informed decisions.
OFA and CHIC
Eye and patella evaluations through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. A CHIC number shows the breed-recommended screening has been completed and made publicly available.
Natural tails and dewclaws
Our puppies keep their natural tails. Because they are raised first and foremost as companions, we do not believe a cosmetic preference is reason enough to remove a healthy part of a newborn puppy.
A written one-year guarantee
Every puppy is placed with a written one-year health guarantee covering congenital and hereditary conditions, with the examination window, documentation requirements, exclusions and remedies set out plainly in the contract.
Where Each Dog Stands
Exact CHIC numbers are published here once issued. Health testing is not a promise that a living animal can never become ill — it is one of the tools a responsible breeder uses to reduce avoidable risk.
Feeding
How our dogs eat
Our puppies are raised primarily on Royal Canin Puppy food. Before they leave, they also begin experimenting with small amounts of raw so that raw is already a familiar taste and texture rather than something completely new after pickup. Our adult dogs are fed a combination of raw and freeze-dried foods.
We do not require a new family to switch a puppy to raw. The priority during the transition home is that a young toy-breed puppy eats consistently and reliably. Families receive exactly what their puppy is eating at pickup and guidance on making any change gradually.

We place very few puppies each year, and we choose their families carefully. If a Yorkie is right for you, we would love to hear who you are and what daily life looks like.
